This document was written because of a mandate by UNC President Erskine Bowles as part of the UNC Tomorrow initiative. Its a good place to start in learning how environmental literacy can be integrated into all sorts of classes at universities. In May 2008 the authors of this document gave a video conference presentation to representatives at each of the 16 UNC campuses.
